There have been restrained changes done on the chassis of the car and it is currently restricted to the sports suspension kit. It has a 15mm drop in ride height along with modified dampers and springs. As per the project leader of the car’s technical team Torsten Oehmke the set up of the new car has the chance of being more extreme.

The drum brakes at the rear of the car in the concept and prototype are going to be upgraded to discs in the production car. Oehmke has also laid down that the production car can also be made in 3 and 5 door models.

There will also be visual changes that will include a novel bodykit that does away with the front bumper for a nose that is more aggressive. It will be complete with 911 turbo like running day lights. The bid central intake of the car includes a Golf GTI honeycomb resemblance. This is not for show as the car requires extra cooling for its new turbo charged version. Oehmke also suggests the presence of twin exhausts in the production car however this is just a possibility that can occur in the car.

Just like any other car manufacturer, Volkswagen too does not leave a stone unturned to make the best of this show for themselves, even though the concept cars which run on electricity have taken a back seat but it has not made these car manufacturers to have second thoughts. Volkswagen is all set to unveil its electric concept car at the Detroit auto show for the first time to the common people. They have christened this new electric concept car and show cased it to the North Americans as the E-Bugster.

The look of the car is inspired from the new Beetle but it is not entirely the same to look at, the E- Bugster concept car is much more compact and sporty to look at. The new car has incorporated the bulbous look of the Beetle but it has a much more muscular look to it. This is because the engine of this car has a 114 horse power. The other specs of this car include some good features. The car gives out less than 100 miles per charge.

The concept car of Volkswagen is capable of getting its charge back with in a very small time. It can fill up 80% of its lost charge with in 30 minutes. Thus the quick charge capability is a plus point for the car. This is just a concept for the moment with no production in plan for the next year at least.

This concept car is not lined to be in production very soon so the VW people are christening it as the “pure concept”. They say that this concept car may never go into production as well, because they are already working on an upgraded version of it. The car makers say that the styling of the car is heavily inspired from there other house hold name the Beetle, although it has a familiar feel to it but it is should not be termed as an electric Beetle.

The Volkswagen car manufacturers had earlier made an electric concept car and beheld it in front of the gathering in the year 2009 at the Frankfurt motor show. But they are saying that this car which is going to be show cased n the Detroit Auto Show is nothing in compared to the one they had unveiled in the past.

This car is meant to meet the upcoming stringency of the government regarding the issue of the depleting energy resources and the increasing pollution level of the earth. VW is confident that just like its subordinates Nissan’s Leaf or the Mitsubishi i which function purely on batteries. They are designed in the guide lines of the US government fuel policies and economy standards. The VW electric concept car is believed to be a gas electric hybrid. The makers are openly claiming that this car is aimed to break the dominance of the Toyota Prius in the US hybrid automobile market.

The features of the car are sure to catch the attention of the people around it. The concept car made by the German automakers is powered by a combo of two 40 kilo watt electric motors which are situated strategically on each axle of the car. There is a direct injection turbo petrol engine in the car as well. This Volkswagen is supposed to produce a combo of 195 kilo watt of power and 486 foot pound of torque, so the car is able to drive through the road with ease and panache.

The maximum speed of the car is 125 mph, but it can reach from 0-62 mph with in seven seconds. The electric motor has been placed in the rear end of the car with a gasoline electric power train in the front of the car, for this reason this car is a classic example of a hybrid car in the truest sense of it.

The car has incorporated the electric motors for the boosting of the petrol engine during the car’s acceleration. The seven speed direct shift gear box helps to disconnect the gasoline engine from the drive train in order to allow the car to travel to the speed of 74 mph in the electric mode.

The makers are pointing that even though it is made as a concept car it is capable of carrying out everyday driving chores. Hence for this reason it is designed to be a four seater sedan.

The Los Angeles Motor Show will be the venue where the new VW CC will be making its debut along with the Beetle R concept car. The latter has been backed by the car bosses as being the firm favorite for production.

They have also revealed that for the first time the original concept car was just months away from being built but the business case was destroyed by currency fluctuations. According to other sources the car will be based on the firm’s new B7 platform a version of which underpins the longer and wider US specification Passant. Like the US Passant the car is likely to be manufactured in the United States of America, at the new Chattanooga factory in Tennessee.

The Micro Bus is destined to be on sale in 2014, will be taking its inspiration from the five seats Bulli concept which is again a crossover family car displayed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week.

Bothe the front and four wheel drive versions will be made available to the buyers. While a seven seat variant is also believed to be under consideration. Although the engine line is yet to be confirmed but it could include the Volkswagen 2.0 liter turbo charged petrol and diesel engines.

So it would be a long wait but definitely a worthy one.

The production version of the car is different from the concept version. The concept version is one that features a rear engine that has a RWD configuration. The production version is one that has a FWD configuration with the front engine.

This production version is going to be available with two engine options with a new generation 3-cylinder. The petrol engine is 1.0 litres and it has an output of 59 -74 hp. There are two options of the transmission system that is given and that is a standard 5 speed manual with a novel 6 speed clutch un it. There is a combined European cycle consumption that is a 59 hp one. This model has a fuel economy that is a 54.6 mpg one. The car also has the BlueMotion technology of the brand and the gas emission figures of the car are below 100g/km for both these car engines.

There is another variant of the car that features a 68 hp version of the 1.0 liter turbo charged engine that is a three engine gasoline one. This engine is also capable of operating on natural gas. This car is scheduled to be unveiled at the Frankfurt 2011 Auto Show on the 13^th of September and it is expected to be available in Europe by December!

It has also seen that the performance were fully matched to that of the well known Golf GTI hatchbacks, with a combination of the 0-60 mph run capacity which takes 6.9 seconds and superb speed ranging till 149 mph.
