The closer the premier of Peugeot 408, which will replace the model with an index of 407, the more new photos of the car there are in the French press. Today’s edition of L’Auto Journal has published its version of Peugeot 408. As usual in such cases, the journalists state that they have in their hands of “the real” photo of the serial vehicle, which will go into production in the second half of next year.

Apparently, Peugeot 408 will be slightly bigger than its predecessor, but the model will be based on the platform which was already used to built a new generation of Citroen C5. In addition, Peugeot 408 will share its engines with the C5, including the latest 3.0-liter diesel engine with dual turbo, which delivers 240 hp. Not so much the power of the engine, but its torque is impressive – even at 1400 rpm the engine will give 400 Nm torque, and with the entire 1600 rpm it will have on the maximum of 450 Nm torque.

During the test drives in Spain paparazzi photograph took a photo of the production version of Peugeot 308 RC-Z. This sports car which slightly reminiscent the previous generation Audi TT, was first shown at Frankfurt Motor Show two years ago. Now, judging by the appearance of completeness of the vehicle, which is almost without any camouflage, there is quite a bit of time left till the premiere series of the new model. It is expected that the sports coupe will debut in Frankfurt in September this year, but sales will begin in early 2010.

Peugeot 308 RC-Z is built on a platform of T7 – the same as that of the “ordinary” 308 and the Citroen C4. Not much is known about the lineup of engines . The only information available is that it will enter the 250-strong petrol unit and one or more turbo diesel engines. It should be noted that the alliance of French car manufacturers – Citroen is preparing the second party of the DS line of sports cars.
