The car giants of the oriental hemisphere, Hyundai car manufacturers have scheduled to launch their latest concept car in the coming year at Geneva. They are thinking of showcasing the i-oniq concept car at the Geneva Motor Show in the summer of 2012. This launch will be its international launch and the whole world will get to see the car for the first time ever. This concept car is scheduled to be unveiled in the month of March in 2012.

Hyundai is thinking of making this concept car popular among all the people and shadow its contenders in the Motor Show of Geneva. They have given the world a small sneak peek of the sketch. From the sketch itself we can see that the car is quite edgy and has urban look and feel to it. The sketch has only revealed its look and has not yet given a thorough specification of the concept car. The look of the car is characterized with an aerodynamic hatchback or in other words we can call it shooting brake lay out with a low bonnet and a very belligerent shoulder line to top and a outstanding rear end to top it all of.

This concept car has been designed and developed by the engineers of Hyundai’s European wing at the R&D centre in Russelsheim, Germany. The chief designer who was given out this humongous task is Thomas Burkle. He has been quoted saying that the blue print of this car is set to be “the next evolution of the brand’s ‘fluidic sculpture’ form language”. He also said that “the strong arched curves define the silhouette of i-oniq, creating a playful contrast between the sharp character lines and soft but muscular features.”

Even though the chief designer has said so many things it is yet unclear that how the i-oniq will be performing, whether it will be previewing any Hyundai vehicle in particular. The concept car is set to roll on the Motor Show on March 8th, but nothing can be anticipated on its production date as of yet.

The car mogul Hyundai motors have launched its most recent concept car in collaboration with the Beijing BAIC, the new Shouwang brand at the 2011 Guangzhou Auto Show on Monday.

The brand is intensely meant for the Chinese market. It is believed to be manufactured under the local partner Beijing BAIC’s supervision. This close co operation is anticipated to leak some of the Korean company’s technology to the Chinese market.

The Korean company on the other hand has start off on an emphatic note and this week by unveiling the BHCD- 1 concept car in southern Guangzhou and shoeing the Chinese customers what they have got to offer them.

Earlier Hyundai had tweaked some of its domestic models such as the Avante and Sonata to the Chinese people. But the BHDC-1 concept car is hoped to b the company’s intent to create a totally new content for the world’s fastest growing and increasing car market.

The specification of this particular concept car is yet to be revealed. One does not know the exact statistics of the engine, horse power, fuel efficiency and size. The launch of the car through the joint venture is seen as the wish of the Chinese government to invite foreign auto makers to their domestic market in order to develop the independent car brands and transfer the green car technologies.

The Beijing BAIC has been reported to say that they have played a small but significant role in the making and development of the car BHCD-1. But some of the insiders have questioned the wisdom of the haring of the new technological developments with a Chinese auto maker which is lagging behind and has quite a long way to catch up with the advancements of the Korean company.

There were many other major global brands who had launched their independent creations at the motor show are many. Of them the noticeable ones were the Baojun by Shanghai GM Wuling, Linian by Guangzhou Honda and Zhichun by Dongfeng Nissan.

Designers from Hyundai Global Design presented their next, already the fifth, creation – a prototype of the crossover “Hyundai ix-Metro”, which will be presented at the exposition of the Korean company at Frankfurt Motor Show. It is expected that such a car will be equipped with a 1 liter turbocharged engine with direct injection, developing 125 hp. When working in conjunction with six-speed transmission, emissions of CO 2 in the atmosphere will be 80 grams/km.

The concept of Hyundai-IX Metro combines practicality, reliability and versatility of CUV in one package and its target market is young European citizens. I do not know what movies or dreams saw Rogelio J. Flores, chief designer of Hyundai IX-Metro, and under the influence of which magic all the other developers were, but they claim that inspiration with big spoons was extracted from the NASA project, as well as science-fiction movies.

The result is an object that resembles a capsule with 20-inch wheels and without a parachute; the outlines resemble a production Mazda. But the desire to create something cosmic is a combination of faceted surfaces, interconnected power lines on the principle of triangulation, it’s not right to compare it with Mazda because of its explicit grotesque avant-garde body. Nevertheless, the developers promised that the serial version of ix-Metro will be broadly available during the next two years.

Some technical specifications:

Body: 5-door monologue.
Length: 3925 mm.
Width: 1760 mm.
Height: 1576 mm.
Wheelbase: 2513 mm.
Ground clearance: 207 mm.
Landing formula 2 + 2.

Engine: 3-cylinder 1-liter, turbocharged.
Timing – 12-valve DOHC CVVT mechanism with variable phases. Maximum power: 92kW, 125 hp at 6000 rpm.
Total weight of the vehicle: 950 kg.
Tires: 245/40 R 20.

Recently, Hyundai could only dream of a sport Coupe. But now the company has Genesis Coupe, which is no worse than Z370. However, this producer is not going to stop. By 2011, the auto manufacturer is preparing a successor of Hyundai Coupe.

According to the general director of the Korean company, the car will be similar to the concept car called Veloster, which was shown in 2007 at the autoshow in Los Angeles. This will be inexpensive model, combining excellent design, small size and functionality. Velostar is expected to be stylish hatch-coupe, which all self-respecting auto producers try to have one.

Sizes of the new Veloster will be similar to Accent (it’s enough for four). However, it promises to be light and nimble with the proper ratio of power per ton of weight. The cheapest version will be equipped with 1.6-liter 140-strong engine with direct injection. In fact Veloster couldn’t do without diesel power: for example, 2 litter 184 diesel power that the updated Santa Fe is equipped with, has a good potential and will give Veloster different dynamics in relation to a good economy.
