Aston Martin unveiled a new concept car Aston Martin V12 Zagato at the Villa D’Este Concours on May 21st, 2011. It was introduced as the modern day interpretation of the iconic DB4GT Zagato. For the manufacture of this car Aston Martin has formed alliance with the Italian design house Zagato. It is expected to make its racing debut in Nurburgring on May 28th of this year. Both Aston Martin and Zagato have contributed in the making of this concept car. Although the car has found inspiration in V12 Vantage model many of the technologies that were applied in the One-77 super-cars have also been used in new V12 Zagato.

A new handcrafted aluminum body used in it gives the Aston Martin V12 Zagato a sleek and muscular design. The front wings of the car encompass seven separate pieces of aluminum which has been pooled to give a graceful form to the car. The car has a double bubble roof which is another design cue taken from the iconic Zagato.

The roof is created from five separate pieces which only goes on to illustrate the craftsmanship which was used in the manufacture of this concept car. A lot of effort has gone into the designing of this car which includes using a combination of the most recent computer based modeling techniques. This design characterizes the spirit of DB4GT Zagato.

The concept car, V12 Zagato runs on a 6.0-liter V12 engine that is placed under the hood of the car. The engine implemented in the car delivers a total of 510 HP and 420 lb ft of torque. The racing credentials of the car can be made out by looking at the muscular organic form of the car. Initially the car will be produced in a very limited number. The car can be expected to hit the roads by the coming year.

At least some sources have published online the photos appeared of the vehicle without any camouflage.

Recall that the Rapide is based on the platform from super DB9, but under the hood the 4-door coupe will be equipped with the engine with the capacity of 5.9 liter V12, which delivers 477 hp or 517 hp depending on settings. Interestingly, a new Aston Martin will not be produced in Britain but at the factory Magna Steyr in Austria. Sales of the new vehicle will begin early next year, as the official premiere of Rapide is scheduled for this September.

The cost of Aston Martin Rapide will be about $ 200000-250000.
