Subaru will Give a Second Chance to SVX Sports Car

Western media has learned that the Japanese conglomerate Subaru is developing a new generation of not very popular in its time sports car SVX. Moreover, according to preliminary data, the concept will be presented at Tokyo Motor Show.

Hybrid Tourer Concept Car is the prototype of a new generation Subaru SVX coupe. Japanese sports car, the design of which  was developed by European specialists from ItalDesign, was manufactured from 1991 to 1997 and was equipped only with a 3.3-liter engine with the output of 234 hp, running together with four-speed automatic gearbox.

According to the AutoExpress publication, the next generation of SVX is based on Hybrid Tourer Concept, which the Japanese will show at the upcoming motor show in Tokyo.

It is expected that the serial version of Subaru SVX will have a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, but it is possible that the model will get a hybrid system consisting of lithium-ion batteries, electric motors and a 2-liter turbocharged engine. The cost of the novelty will be around £40,000. In this case, as British journalists say Subaru will not refuse to issue a more affordable coupe, jointly developed by engineers from Toyota, which will be demonstrated at the motor show in the capital of Japan as a concept FT-86.
