Frankfurt 2009: Lamborghini Reventón Roadster

At the motor show in Frankfurt Mercedes-Benz will display supercar SLS AMG Gullwing, Audi an electric sports car, but the Italian concern Lamborghini will bring to Germany the open version of the supercar Reventón Roadster, which is also claimed to be one of the main stars of the auto salon.

In 2007 at the motor show in Frankfurt, the Italians from Lamborghini for the first time presented to the public their supercar Lamborghini Reventon. And now, two years later, they represent an open version of Lamborghini Reventon Roadster. Roadster, in fact, differs from the coupe only with design of the roof, but otherwise the vehicle will be identical to the concept vehicle introduced two years ago.

“The Reventón is the most extreme car in the history of the brand,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Lamborghini. “The new Roadster adds an extra emotional component to our combined technological expertise – it unites superior performance with the sensual fascination of open-top driving.”

Lamborghini Reventón Roadster, equipped with aggressive 18-inch wheels, comes completed with 6.5 liter V12engine, which delivers 650 hp at 8,000 rpm and 660 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. Four-wheel drive supercar with a six-speed transmission, e-gear is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds after, and the maximum speed is 340 km/h (announces WCF).

It is expected that the company will produce only 20 copies of the roadster. The price of Lamborghini Reventón Roadster is about $1.75 million.

Deliveries of the V12-powered Lamborghini Reventon Roadster will begin as early as October 2009.
