The company Citroen introduced a new 3-liter diesel engine, which will be offered to the family car C5 and C6, as well as will be the most powerful serial production engine in the history of the French brand. As The Motor Report has announced, this unit will soon replace the old 2.7-liter vehicle powered with 208 hp.
Powered with six-cylinder turbo diesel engine the new vehicle will have an output of 240 horsepower and a maximum torque of 450 Nm already available from 1600 rpm. Engine will be aggregated with six automatic transmission. According to Citroen, with such a power plant C5 and C6 cars will be able to disperse up to 100 km/h in only 7.9 and 8.5 seconds respectively, while their average fuel consumption will be about 7.4 liters per hundred kilometers of road. Emissions are CO2 – 195 grams per kilometer.
