Three new “hearts” for the Alfa Romeo MiTo

alfa-romeo-mito-01In 2007, in Frankfurt Motor Show FIAT introduced its new technology engine MultiAir, which concept cer FIAT Aria was equipped with. Now the engines MultiAir go into serial production and will soon appear under the hood of a model MiTo.

The hot hatchback will soon have 3 new gasoline engines, which will be aggregated to the choice of five-and six-gearboxes. In the future, automakers will optimize the technology MultiAir and their diesel engines.

The main feature of the MulitAir technology is the improved performance of combustion of fuel and more efficient management of the engine. Together, these 2 parameters work their magic. The fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are reduced by 10%, the same percentage increases engine power and its torque is increased by 15%.

Under the hood of the Italian Alfa Romeo MiTo three will be new power units volume of 1.4 liters and power with 170hp, 135hp and 105 hp. And if the two most recent engines will be available for the whole family of MiTo, a mast-head 170-strong engine is designed for specific versions of hatchback named Quadrifoglio Verde.

Also for the first time in the history of Alfa Romeo MiTo models the hatchback will be equipped with the Stop & Start system, which will make cars even more economical and environmentally friendly.

Prices for Alfa Romeo MiTo with the new engines have not yet been reported, but it is known that Alfa Romeo Milano, which is preparing for its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show will be equipped with the same engines.
